Pulmonary cytokines expression was assessed as described previously [18 (
link)]. qRT-PCR TRIzol reagent (ThermoFisher Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA) was used to isolate RNA from mouse lungs. Then, reverse transcription was performed using
ImProm-II™ Reverse Transcription System A3800 (Promega, Madison, WI, USA), following the manufacturer’s instructions. Detection was performed using the Bio-Rad
iQ5 real-time PCR. Results were analyzed as 2
−ΔΔCt, and β-actin was used for normalization. The following primers were used (forward and reverse):
