5 bromo 2 deoxyuridine brdu cell proliferation assay kit

Manufactured by Abcam
Sourced in United States

The 5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) Cell Proliferation Assay Kit is a quantitative colorimetric assay that measures the incorporation of BrdU, a synthetic nucleoside, into the DNA of proliferating cells. This kit provides the necessary reagents to quantify cell proliferation by measuring the amount of BrdU incorporated into newly synthesized DNA.

Cell Viability and Proliferation Assays

Cell survival was measured using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) (Dojindo Lab., Japan). Rin-m cells (5 × 104) were seeded into a 96-well plate coated with ELP, REP or FN, and cultured for 24h. CCK-8 (10μl) solution was added to each well, and incubated for another 3 h and then measured at OD 450 nm using the Multiskan microplate reader. Cell proliferation was measured using the 5′-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU) Cell Proliferation Assay Kit (BioVision, USA) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Rin-m cells were incubated with BrdU for 4h before harvesting, and then fixed. A monoclonal anti-BrdU antibody was then added, and finally the OD at 450 nm was measured.

Cell Growth and Proliferation Assay

Cell growth curves were assessed by using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) (Abmole, Houston, TX, USA). Cells were seeded at a density of 2000 cells per well in 96-well plates and incubated for 1, 2, and 3 days, respectively. Then, the cells were incubated with CCK-8 solution for 2 h. The optical density (OD) values were measured on the microplate reader (Infinite M200 Pro, Tecan Group, Männedorf, Switzerland) at a wavelength of 450 nm. Similarly, cell proliferation was quantified on day 2 using a 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine (Brdu) Cell Proliferation Assay Kit (BioVision, Milpitas, CA, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
