Calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor

Manufactured by Omron
Sourced in Japan

The Calibrated Digital Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor is a medical device designed to measure and display a person's systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as their pulse rate. It is a fully automatic, digital device that uses an inflatable cuff to detect blood flow changes and calculate the blood pressure readings.

Comprehensive Anthropometric Measurements and Body Composition Analysis

The study included various anthropometric measurements such as height, weight, waist circumference, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), and calf circumference. Body mass index (BMI) was calculated by dividing the body weight in kilograms by the square of the standing height in meters. Additionally, body composition was assessed using the Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis InBody S10 (Biospace, Seoul, Korea). Furthermore, systolic and diastolic blood pressure were recorded using a calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor (OMRON, Kyoto Japan).

Anthropometric and Blood Pressure Measurements

The height, body weight, circumference of waist and hip, and blood pressure were measured as previously described [17 (link)]. Height was measured without shoes, using a SECA 206 portable body meter (Seca, Hamburg, Germany), while body weight was measured in light clothing without shoes, using a Tanita digital lithium weighing scale (Tanita, Tokyo, Japan). The readings for height and weight were taken to the nearest 0.1 cm and 0.1 kg, respectively. Then, the circumference of the waist and hip was measured using a Lufkin tape. Meanwhile, the subject’s systolic and diastolic blood pressure were measured using a calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor (OMRON, Kyoto, Japan). The blood pressure of each subject was measured twice to obtain an average reading.

Anthropometric Measurements and Body Composition

Anthropometric measurements were assessed according to the standard protocols (22 (link)), which includes weight, height, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), waist circumference, hip circumference, and calf circumference. Body circumferences were measured using a non-extensible and flexible plastic measuring tape. All measurements were taken two times by the same assessor to obtain reliable results. The body mass index (BMI, kg/m2) was calculated as the body weight in kilograms divided by the squared standing height in meters. Body composition was assessed using Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) InBody S10 (Bio-space Co., Ltd., Seoul, South Korea). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure were also measured using a calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor (OMRON, Kyoto, Japan).

Comprehensive Anthropometric Assessment

Nutritional status indicators were assessed using anthropometric measurements, including weight, height, arm span, waist circumference, hip circumference, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), and calf circumference. The measurement of these figures was done according to standard protocols [14 (link)]. The Body Mass Index (BMI, kg/m2) was calculated as the body weight in kilograms divided by the squared standing height in meters. The body circumferences were measured using a non-extensible and flexible plastic measuring tape. The body composition was assessed via Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) Inbody S10 (Bio-space Co. Ltd, Seoul, Korea). The systolic and diastolic blood pressure was also measured using a calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor (OMRON, Kyoto, Japan).

Comprehensive Anthropometric Assessment Protocol

The nutritional status indicators included measurements of the weight, height, arm span, waist circumference, hip circumference, mid-upper arm circumference, and calf circumference as well as body composition [fat percentage (%), fat mass (kg), free fat mass (kg), and muscle mass (kg)]. Then, the Body Mass Index (BMI) was computed. The body circumference was measured using a non-extensible and flexible plastic measuring tape. The body composition was measured via the bio-impedance analysis (BIA) using the In Body S10 (Bio-space Co. Ltd, Korea). The systolic and diastolic blood pressures were also measured using a calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor (OMRON, Japan).

Comprehensive Anthropometric Assessment

Anthropometric measurements were applied to assess the nutritional status. These measurements covered height, weight, waist circumference, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), and calf circumference. The standard method was adhered to for these measurements [15 ]. The body weight in kilograms was divided by the squared standing height in meters, to obtain the body mass index (BMI). The Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis InBody S10 (Biospace, Seoul, Korea), was utilized for the assessment of body composition, while a calibrated digital automatic blood pressure monitor (OMRON, Kyoto, Japan) was employed, to gauge the systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
