Oxidative Stress Biomarker Quantification

All ROS assays were conducted according to the manufacturer’s directions. For ROS (OxiSelect^TMIn Vitro ROS/RNS Assay Kit; Cell Biolabs, Inc.; San Diego, California) assays were conducted on tissue lysates from frozen tissue samples. Samples were weighted (10 mg/sample), homogenized in PBS and centrifuged (10,000 g, 5 min, 4°C). Following sample preparation, assays were conducted according to the manufacturer’s directions. MDA content was obtained using MDA lipid peroxidation assay (Abcam) according to the manufacturer’s directions. For 4-HNE, the OxiSelect^TM 4-HNE Assay Kit (Cell Biolabs, Inc.) was used. Samples were homogenized in RIPA buffer with inhibitors and analyzed according to the manufacturer’s directions.

Cardiac Triglyceride and Oxidative Stress
