Plasma BDNF Quantification Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The plasma samples of the participants were collected on the same day that the clinical and cognitive evaluations were performed and stored at −80 °C until they were assayed. The BDNF levels were measured with a human BDNF ELISA Kit, which was performed as instructed by the manufacturer (R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN, USA).

BDNF Quantification in MSC Secretome

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to quantitate BDNF in the culture supernatant. Naïve MSCs and BDNF-eMSCs were seeded at a density of 1 × 105 cells per 12-well plate (Corning, Corning, NY, USA) with 1 mL complete media. Removed cell debris supernatant was obtained after 48 h incubation. BDNF concentrations were analyzed using a Human BDNF ELISA kit (R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN, USA). The absorbance of the samples at 450 nm was measured using a SpectraMAX 190 (Molecular Devices, San Jose, CA, USA) microplate reader.

Quantifying Neurotrophin Levels in Serum

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum BDNF, NGF, and GDNF levels were measured using sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs). For BDNF, we used the Human BDNF ELISA Kit (#DBD00; R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN, USA); for NGF we used the NGF sandwich ELISA Kit (#CYT304; ChemiKine, Temecula, CA, USA), and for GDNF we used the GDNF Human ELISA Kit (#ab100525; Abcam, Cambridge, MA, USA). Fluorescence was measured at 450 nm with a microplate reader (Emax; Molecular Devices, Sunnyvale, CA, USA).

Fasting BDNF and MMP-9 Biomarker Assessment

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Fasting BDNF and MMP-9 tests were performed using native blood samples collected by the non-contact method. Blood serum concentrations of BDNF were measured by ELISA according to the Human BDNF ELISA Kit user manual (R&D Systems), and the concentrations of MMP-9 in serum were tested using a Human MMP-9 ELISA Kit (Biorbyt).
The tests were performed twice in each group, at the beginning and at the end of the experiment.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
