128 slice definition flash

Manufactured by Siemens
Sourced in Germany

The 128-slice Definition FLASH is a medical imaging device developed by Siemens. It is a computed tomography (CT) scanner that can capture high-resolution images by using 128 individual detector slices. The core function of this equipment is to acquire detailed cross-sectional images of the human body for diagnostic purposes.

CT Imaging Protocol for Chest Scans

The patients underwent CT scans at two tertiary care hospitals. Chest CTs were performed on two different scanners (16 slice Somatom Sensation 16, 128-slice Definition FLASH, all Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Germany). All CT acquisitions were obtained in supine position during end-inspiration. Intravenous contrast material was administered at the discretion of the radiologist considering the individual study indication. Automatic tube voltage selection was applied with a reference tube voltage of 120 kV. Tube current was regulated by an automatic tube current modulation technique with the reference mAs being 40−110. Collimation width was 0.625 mm–0.75 mm. Multiplanar reformations (MPR) were reconstructed in the axial plane with a slice thickness of 0.75–1.5 mm (56 CTs) and 2–4 mm (9 CTs) in lung kernel and with a slice thickness of 1−5 mm in soft tissue kernel. Additional sagittal and coronal MPRs were reconstructed with a slice thickness of 1–3 mm using lung and soft tissue kernel. The pictures were sent to a picture archiving and communication system (PACS, Syngo Imaging, Siemens, Erlangen, Germany).

Multidetector CT Imaging Protocol

Noncontrast CT and CTA were performed using a multidetector CT scanner (16-slice Somatom or 128-slice Definition FLASH; Siemens Healthcare, Forchheim, Germany) at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne, Australia; GE LightSpeed VCT 64-slice multidetector CT scanner (GE Healthcare, Waukesha) at the University Hospital of Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy; and 64-slice Brilliance (Philips, Cleveland) or 320-slice Aquilion One (Toshiba Medical Systems, Otawara, Japan) scanners at the John Hunter Hospital, University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
CTA acquisition included the region from the aortic arch to the cerebral vertex. These neuroimaging data were reviewed using the institutional Picture and Archiving System.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
