Zeta size nano s 90 dls instrument

Manufactured by Malvern Panalytical

The Zeta Size Nano S-90 DLS instrument is a dynamic light scattering (DLS) system used for particle size and zeta potential analysis. It measures the size and surface charge of particles and molecules in the nanometer to micron range. The instrument utilizes a laser light source and a detector to analyze the Brownian motion of the particles, providing information about their hydrodynamic size and zeta potential.

Evaluating DB-HNTs Colloidal Stability

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The colloidal stability of DB-HNTs in aqueous solution was studied by dynamic light scattering (Malvern Zeta Size Nano S-90 DLS instrument). The refractive indexes of gold and platinum were adapted from the Malvern Reference manual (MAN0396 Issue 1.0). The refractive index of 0.30 was adapted for gold, while the refractive index of platinum was 4.5. The stability of functionalized DB-HNTs was validated by measuring the hydrodynamic size distribution of functionalized DB-HNTs in serum using DLS. The DB-HNTs were added to mouse serum in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) at a concentration of 4 nM and then incubated at 37 °C for 24 h. The aliquots were analyzed at 0, 4, 8, 24, and 48 h post-incubation by DLS. Each aliquot was filtered using a spin filter (MWCO = 30 kDa), and further washed with water 3 times. The eluent was collected and analyzed by ICP-MS for trace amount of Fe, Pt, Au and Gd.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
