(2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl)trimethylammonium chloride (MOTMA-Cl, 80 wt% solution in water), stearyl methacrylate (SMA), and benzyl methacrylate (BzMA, 96%) monomers were all purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (UK). BzMA monomer was passed through a basic alumina column to remove inhibitor prior to use. Sodium tetrakis(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)borate (Na-TFPhB) was a gift from Merck Chemicals Ltd (UK). 2,2-Azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) initiator was purchased from Molekula (UK), and tert-butyl peroxy-2-ethylhexanoate (T21s) initiator was a gift from AkzoNobel (The Netherlands). Cumyl dithiobenzoate (CDB, 99%) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (UK) and used a supplied. Solvents for synthesis and purification (dichloromethane, toluene, tetrahydrofuran, ethanol, methanol, and isopropanol) were purchased from either VWR, Sigma-Aldrich, or Fisher (UK) and were used as supplied. Deuterated solvents were obtained from either Cambridge Isotope Laboratories (USA) (acetone-d₆ and dichloromethane-d₂) or Sigma-Aldrich (UK) (chloroform-d₃). Solvents to prepare dispersions were obtained from either Sigma-Aldrich (UK) (n-dodecane, ≥99%) or Alfa Aesar (UK) (n-hexadecane, 99%).

Stearyl methacrylate (SMA), cumyl dithiobenzoate (CDB) and n-dodecane were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (UK) and were used as received. N-2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl pyrrolidone (NMEP, 96% or 98% purity) was donated by Ashland Specialty Ingredients (USA) and was used without further purification. Azoisobutyronitrile (AIBN) was purchased from Molekula (Dorset, UK). tert-Butyl peroxy-2-ethylhexanoate (T21s) was purchased from AkzoNobel (The Netherlands). CD₂Cl₂ was purchased from Goss Scientific Ltd, (UK) and CDCl₃ was purchased from VWR chemicals (UK). All other solvents were purchased from Fisher Scientific (Loughborough, UK) and were used as received.

Poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-chlorotrifluoroethylene) (P(VDF–CTFE)) was purchased from Solvay Plastics and the molar fraction of CTFE units is 9%. BaTiO₃ nanoparticles with an average diameter about of 100 nm were purchased from Shanghai Aladdin. Dodecafluoroheptylmethacrylate (DFMA) was purchased from Xeogia Fluorine-Silicone Chemical Co. Ltd (Harbin, China). Cumyldithiobenzoate (CDB) as a RAFT agent was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Methacryloxy propyl trimethoxyl silane (KH570) and 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone (DMPA) are purchased from China Pharmaceutical Group Co. Ltd.
