5 g cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB, Sigma, USA) was weighted and added into 100 mL of ultrapure water and stirred vigorously for 30 minutes at 90°C until CTAB was completely dissolved. 10 g triethanolamine (TTA, sigma, USA) was weighted and added into 30 mL of ultrapure water to obtain 0.3 mg/mL TTA solution. After that, 5 mL of TTA solution and an additional mixture solution of 30 mL cyclohexane (Sinopharm, China) and 8 mL ethyl orthosilicate (TEOS, Sinopharm, China) were added into the dissolved CTAB solution. The mixed solution reacted under the condition of the continuous stirring at 300 rpm and 90°C for 24 hours. After the reaction, the product of MSN was centrifuged at 1200 rpm for 20 minutes and washed with ethanol and sodium chloride solution for removing the excess raw materials of CTAB. Finally, the prepared MSN was incubated with IL-4 solution, and the product was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM).

We purchased acrylic acid (AA) from Tianjin Fuchen Chemical Reagent Factory (Tianjin, China). Azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN, AR), cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB, AR), ammonia (25%, AR) and ethyl orthosilicate (TEOS, AR) were purchased from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. (Beijing, China). Anhydrous ethanol (AR) and hexane (AR) were purchased from Beijing Chemical Plant (Beijing, China). We also purchased 3-(2-aminoethylamino) propyl-trimethoxysilane (NN-TES, 95%, AR) from Alfa Aesar Ltd (Lancashire, UK). Phosphoric acid (H3PO4, AR) and disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na2HPO4 · 12H2O, AR) were purchased from Tianjin Fuchen Chemical Reagent Factory (Tianjin, China). Technical Thi (97% effective content) and Thi wettable powder (25% effective content) were purchased from Shandong Keda Venture Biotechnology Co., Ltd (Shandong, China). A dialysis bag (molecular weight cut-off 3500) was purchased from Beijing Kebiquan Biotechnology Co., Ltd (Beijing, China).

Ebselen (Ebs, purity ≥ 98%) was collected from Shanghai Kemin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Sodium hyaluronate (HA, Mw = 1.5 × 106) was collected from Shanghai yuanye Bio-Technology Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA, purity ≥ 99%), glycine (Gly, purity ≥ 99%), cyclohexane (Cy, purity ≥ 99.9%), cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB, purity ≥ 99%), and triethyl phosphate (TEP, purity ≥ 99%) were collected from Adamas Reagent Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Ethyl orthosilicate (TEOS, SiO2 ≥ 28.4%), and Zn (NO3)2·6 H2O was collected from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Mouse fibroblasts cells (L929) for experiments in vitro were obtained from Shanghai Cell Bank of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanghai, China). In addition, Sigma-Aldrich Trading Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China) provided the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) for this study. Dulbecco’s modified eagle medium (DMEM), Fetal bovine serum (FBS), and double antibody (penicillin/streptomycin) were obtained from Hyclone Trading Co., Ltd. (Tianjin, China). Unless otherwise indicated, all the above reagents were used directly. All the materials were used as received, except where mentioned otherwise.
