African monkey kidney cell line (Vero) was purchased from the Korean cell line bank (KCLB, Seoul, Korea). Media for the cell line maintenance (Roswell Park Memorial Institute-1640; RPMI-1640) and serum (fetal bovine serum; FBS) including antibiotics (penicillin, streptomycin) were purchased from Gibco-BRL (Grand Island, NY, USA). 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2-azobis(2-amidinopropane) hydrochloride (AAPH), 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrolin N-oxide (DMPO), and α-(4-Pyridyl-1-oxide)-N-tert-butylnitrone (POBN) were purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA). H2O2 and FeSO4.7H2O used were purchased from Fluka Co. (Buchs, Switzerland). Furthermore, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), 2,7-dichlorofluorescein diacetate (DCF-DA), and 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline)-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA).

Valorization of Spent Sulfuric Acid

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The black-red and sticky spent sulfuric acid was gathered from the industrial alkylation unit (Shandong, China), which was sealed and stored under −15 °C before use. The compositions of spent sulfuric acid were determined by the titration method, which was 91.34 wt% sulfuric acid, 3.48 wt% water, and 5.18 wt% acid-soluble oil. The characteristics of spent sulfuric acid were listed in Table 1. The spent sulfuric acid was used as soon as possible because its property changes with time.
Hydrogen peroxide (30 wt% H2O2), ethanol (EtOH, CH3CH2OH), and tert-butyl alcohol (TBA, C4H9OH) were obtained from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd (Shanghai, China). Sodium persulfate (PS, Na2S2O8) and 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrolin-N-oxide (DMPO) were supported by Sigma-Aldrich (China). The feedstock for the preparation of OBC in this study was an apricot shell residue, which was collected from Haizhou Water Treatment Materials Co., Ltd (Henan, China). All the solutions were prepared in deionized water.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
