Genetically Modified Mice Behavioral Study

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
MOR-KO and DOR-KO mice were bred in-house. MOR-wild-type (WT) and DOR-WT littermates from heterozygote breedings were used as WT controls. C57BL/6J WT mice were purchased from Taconic Farms. Only male mice were included in the experiments.

Behavioral Experiments on C57Bl/6J and VGAT-ChR2 Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A total of 43 male mice were used in this study and the figure contribution of each mouse is summarized in Supplemental table 1. All mice tested were between 2 and 12 month of age. C57Bl/6J (WT) mice were purchased from Taconic Biosciences and VGAT-ChR2 mice were obtained from the Jackson laboratories. VGAT-cre mice were backcrossed to C57Bl/6J mice for at least six generations. All mice were kept on a 12 h light-dark cycle. All animal experiments were performed according to the guidelines of the US National Institutes of Health and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at the New York University Langone Medical Center.

Murine Aneurysm Induction Protocols

See Study approval for an ethics declaration. The PPE (MilliporeSigma) model was described various times before (13 (link), 44 (link)). Briefly, 10-week-old male C57BL/6J WT mice (Taconic Biosciences) on regular chow diet (R36; Lantmännen) were kept under standard conditions (temperature 22°C, humidity 56%). Similarly, AngII-minipump implantation for AAA induction has been described various times before (19 (link)). Briefly, 10-week-old ApoE–/– male mice (Charles River Laboratories) received an AngII-loaded (Bachem) osmotic minipump (model 2004, DURECT Corporation) implanted subcutaneously. Anesthesia, PPE-AAA induction, AngII-AAA induction, murine B-mode ultrasound images, and protocols for euthanasia and tissue processing are discussed in the Supplemental Data.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
