MELD Diagnostics Quality Assurance Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
In 2012, Leipzig University Hospital introduced a special quality assurance method for MELD diagnostics (Model of End-Stage Liver Disease). MELD is required for patients with liver cirrhosis eligible for a liver transplant at the time of initial diagnosis as well as in follow-up and progress examinations. As part of the quality assurance process, serum retention samples are taken from routine diagnostics and stored at −20 °C. We analyzed 330 of these serum samples using the Thermo Scientific DXR 3 SmartRaman Spectrometer (Thermo Scientific Waltham, MA, USA).
For the measurements, 50 µL of each sample was placed on a glass cover slip. The samples were measured using a 785 nm laser with a power of 150 mW. A two-cycle loop was used for the automatic measurement. The first loop included three sets with an exposure time of 10 s per set, and the second loop included two sets with an exposure time of 30 s for each set. Subsequently, each set was saved separately for individual analysis. We measured each sample on different days over the course of one week. Table 3 shows the storage conditions of the sample over the week. Table 4 describes the compilation of patients. Figure 7 shows the collected spectra.

Nanostructure Characterization by TEM, UV-Vis, and SERS

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The morphology of as-prepared nanostructures was investigated on a transmission electron microscopy (TEM, FEI Tecnai 12, America). UV-vis absorption spectra were recorded on a UV-vis spectrometer (AOE, UV-1902, China). With the aid of Via Raman spectrometer (532 nm laser) and thermo scientific DXR3 smart Raman spectrometer (785 nm laser) at room temperature, the SERS performance were acquired on Renishaw in the vary of 600–1800 cm−1.

Raman Spectroscopy of Copper Nanoparticles

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Raman spectra were recorded on a Thermo Scientific DXR3 SmartRaman Spectrometer involving a 532 nm excitation laser. All spectra obtained were averaged over 32 scans in the range of 50 to 3500 cm 1 with 5 cm 1 resolution. Samples were prepared by drop-casting Cu NPs on a silicon wafer, followed by drying under vacuum for at least 24 h.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
