Ethyl acrylate (EA, 97%), n-butyl acrylate (BA, 98%), styrene (99%), 2,2-azobis(2-methylpropionamidine)dihydrochloride (V-50, 97%), potassium peroxodisulfate (KPS, 95%), ethanol (99.5%), and methanol (99.8%) were purchased from FUJIFILM Wako Pure Chemical Corporation (Japan) and used as received. Divinylbenzene (DVB, 80%) and (3-aminopropyl)-triethoxysilane (APTES, 97%) were purchased from Sigma Aldrich and used as received. Water in the present study was distilled and ion-exchanged (EYELA, SA-2100E1, Japan). All Glass substrates (24 mm × 60 mm/Neo Micro Cover Glass, Matsunami Glass Ind., Ltd.) were used after cleaning by ultrasonication in (1) ethanol, (2) detergent in water, and (3) pure water.32 (link) PS substrate (60 mm/Non-Treated Dish, Iwaki, Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.) were used after cleaning by (1) detergent in water and (2) pure water.

Hydroxypropyl Cellulose Polymer Modification

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) was purchased from Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (TCI) and the molecular parameters are as follows: number- and weight-average molecular weights, 9.9 × 104 and 1.5 × 104 respectively; degree of substitution, DS = 1.4 and MS = 3.9,28 (link) where DS and MS denote an average number of substituted hydroxyl group and that of introduced hydroxypropyl group, respectively. Methyl acrylate (MA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl acrylate (EA), ethyl methacrylate (EMA), isopropyl methacrylate (iPMA), and 4-acryloylmorpholine (ACMO) were obtained from TCI and used after passing through a column packed with activated alumina (Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd. (Wako)). Dehydrated pyridine (Wako), propionic anhydride (TCI), 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) (Wako), 2-hydroxy-2-methylpropiophenone (HMPPh) (Sigma Aldrich Co. LCC.) were used without further purification.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
