Cell Culture Protocols for Cancer Research

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A549 (CCL-185), Hela (CCL-2), MCF-7 (HBT-22) and H460 (HTB-177) cells were purchased from the American Type Culture Collection and cultured according to the manufacturer's protocol in media supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (Gibco), 100 U penicillin and 100 μg ml−1 streptomycin (Gibco). ATM-deficient (GM16666) cells were purchased from the Coriell Institute and cultured according to the manufacturer′s protocol in media supplemented with 2 mM L-glutamine, 15% fetal bovine serum and 100 μg ml−1 Hygromycin B.

NSCLC Cell Line Culture and Drug Treatment

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The NSCLC cell lines A549 (CCL-185) and H460 (HTB-177) were purchased from American Type Culture Collection (ATCC, Manassas, VA, USA) and cultured in Dulbecco’s’ modified Eagle’s medium nutrient mixture F-12 Ham (Cat. #D6421, Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA), supplemented with 10 % fetal bovine serum (Cat. #10270-106; Life Technologies, Grand Island, NY, USA), 1 % Penicillin/Streptomycin solution (Cat. #P0781, Sigma-Aldrich) and 1 % L-Glutamine (Cat. #25030-024, Sigma-Aldrich) at 37 °C in a humidified 5 % CO2 incubator. Cell lines were previously DNA fingerprinted (Microsynth, Bern, Switzerland). Medium was changed every 3 days.
Pemetrexed/MTA (commercial name ‘ALIMTA’; Cat #VL7640) was purchased from Eli Lilly (Suisse) S.A. (Vernier/Geneva, Switzerland). Cisplatin (commercial name ´Cisplatin Ebewe´) was purchased from Sandoz Pharmaceuticals AG (Steinhausen/Cham, Switzerland).

NSCLC Cell Lines Maintenance Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
H460 (HTB177™), H1299 (CRL5803™) and A549 (CCL185™) human NSCLC cells were purchased from the American Type Culture Collection (Manassas, VA, USA) and maintained in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM; Sigma-Aldrich; Merck Millipore, Darmstadt, Germany). All cultured cells were supplemented with L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate and cultured with 10% heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum (FBS; Invitrogen; Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., Waltham, MA, USA) in 5% CO2 at 37°C. All cell lines were periodically examined using a MycoTect™ kit (Invitrogen; Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.), to ensure the absence of mycoplasma contamination.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
