The dried root of A. membranaceus samples were obtained from Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, and Heilongjiang provinces, respectively. They were screened for the consistency of shape, diameter, and length. The reagents used in the present work were of analytical grade. The methanol was purchased from Macklin Biochemical Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Folin-Ciocalteu reagent, sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃), aluminum chloride (AlCl₃), sodium nitrite (NaNO₂), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH₂PO₄), and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (K₂HPO₄) were obtained from Sangon Biotech (Shanghai, China). Gallic acid, catechin, ascorbic acid, fluorescein sodium, trolox, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryldydrazyl (DPPH), 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5(3-carboxymethonyphenol)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS), glutamic acid, and 2,2′-azobis-amidinopropane (ABAP) were purchased from Sigma Chemical Co. (St. Louis, MO, USA). HPLC-grade methanol was obtained from Merck Co., Ltd. (Darmstadt, Germany). Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM), fetal bovine serum (FBS), and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) for cell culture were purchased from Gibco Life Technologies (Grand Island, NY, USA). All the other chemicals were obtained from Tianjin Chemical Reagent Co. (Tianjin, China).

Ascorbic acid (ASA), 2,6-dichloroindophenol sodium salt hydrate, chloranil, catechin hydrate, vanillin, Folin-Ciocalteu reagent, hydrocortisone, penicillin, streptomycin, gentamicin, Gallic acid, 2,2′-Azobis-amidinopropane (ABAP) and dichlorofluorescin diacetate (DCFH-DA) were purchased from Sigma Chemical Co. (St. Louis, MO, USA). NaOH, KH₂PO₄, KOH, AlCl₃, acetic acid, NaHCO₃, and K₂HPO₄ were bought from Sangon (Shanghai, China). Chlorogenic acid, Caffeic acid, 4-Coumaric acid, Ferulic acid and benzoic aicd, NaBH₄ were bought from Aladdin Co. (Shanghai, China). WME medium, Hank's balanced salt solution (HBSS), epidermal growth factor, heparin, insulin, and other cell culture reagents were purchased from Gibco Biotechnology Co. All reagents used were of analytical grade.
