To evaluate cytotoxicity, J774A.1 cells (ATCC TIB-67) and NL20 cells (ATCC CRL-2503) were seeded in 96-well plates at 1× 104 cells per well. The cells were then incubated with algae-NP-robot with an algae/ cell ratio of 0.0625, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, 16.0, 32.0, and 64.0 for 24 hours.
