Human osteopontin quantikine kit

Manufactured by R&D Systems
Sourced in United States

The Human Osteopontin Quantikine kit is a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay designed to measure human osteopontin levels in cell culture supernates, serum, and plasma. The kit provides necessary reagents and instructions to perform the assay.

Replication of OPN Loci in YFS Cohort

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The three OPN loci identified in the GWAS of GCKD participants were tested for replication in the Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study (YFS) cohort. Here, plasma OPN was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (Human Osteopontin Quantikine kit, R&D Systems, USA) from samples thawed for the first time for the assay in 2007. Samples of 2,442 participants and 546,677 genotyped SNPs were available for further analysis after QC and imputation. Further details can be found in S1 Methods.
Per selected locus, association analysis of log2(OPN) on SNP dosage (additive) was performed by fitting linear regression models adjusted for age, sex, and eGFR by using SNPTEST v2.5.4 [89 (link)]. GFR was estimated with the MDRD study equation and log2-transformed prior to analysis [108 (link)]. Replication was defined by a one-sided association p-value <0.05/3 (Bonferroni correction for three OPN loci).

Galectin-3 and Osteopontin Levels in Centenarians

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum galectin-3 (Biovendor, Modrice, Czech Republic) and osteopontin levels were determined using commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits according to the manufacturers' protocols (Human Osteopontin Quantikine kit, R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN, USA). Details for each assay are available from the authors upon request. For all assays, the intra-and inter-assay coefficients of variation were < 7% and < 9%, respectively. Each sample was analyzed in duplicate, and the mean value of the two measures was used for the analyses. Laboratory personnel were blinded with regard to subjects' group (centenarians or controls).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
