HPLC Glucose Quantification Protocol

For glucose quantification, the cell-free supernatant was filtered through 0.2 µm centrifuge filters and analyzed by HPLC (VWR Hitachi Organizer) with a detector Merck Differential Refractometer RI-71. The pre-column and the column were Metacarb 87H (VARIAN) and Aminex HPX −42A 125–0129 (Bio-Rad), respectively. The samples were separated during 15 min at 30 °C with 0.01 N H2SO4 as eluent at the flow rate of 0.5 mL.min−1. D (+) glucose anhydrous (Scharlau) was used as standard, at concentrations between 0.03 and 1.0 g/L.
