salt (ABTS), benzoquinone, and hydroquinone were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich
(St. Louis, MO). 3,4-Dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine (l-DOPA) was from Alfa-Aesar (MA, EEUU). 3,4-Dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine
methyl ester hydrochloride (l-DOPA methyl ester (DOPAME))
was purchased from Carbosynth (Berkshire, U.K.). Horseradish peroxidase
(HRP) was from Thermo Scientific (Madrid, Spain).

Lipid Deposition and Enzymatic Assay

Arachidic acid (AA, 312,53 g mol -1 ), 1,2-dipalmitoylsn-glycero-3-phospho-(1'-rac-glycerol) (DPPG, 744.95 g mol -1 ) and 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC, 734,08 g mol -1 ) were purchased from Avanti Polar Lipids, while tyrosinase (Tyr, from mushroom, activity of 5370 U mg -1 ) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution was prepared using NaH 2 PO 4 (119.98 g mol -1 ) and Na 2 HPO 4 .2H 2 O (117,98 g mol -1 ) from Sigma-Aldrich. NaCl (Sigma Aldrich, 58.44 g mol -1 ) was used as a supporting electrolyte in electrochemical measurements. To Langmuir films experients, the lipid solutions were prepared in chloroform (Sigma-Aldrich), and PBS prepared with ultrapure water (resistivity of 18.2 MΩ cm). All chemical reagents were used without further purification.

Enzymatic Reactions with Glucose Oxidase and Tyrosinase

All chemicals and solvents were purchased from SigmaeAldrich. Solvents were of reagent grade and used as supplied. Deionized water was obtained from a Millipore purifier, with a resistivity of 18.2 MU/cm.
Glucose oxidase (GOX), from Aspergillus niger, type VII (activity plus 0.001 kat/mg), and Tyrosinase (Tyr), from Mushroom (activity of 6.10 À5 kat/mg), were purchased from Sigma Chemical Co. (USA).
