Titan3 s tem

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Titan3 S/TEM is a high-performance scanning/transmission electron microscope. It is designed to provide advanced imaging and analytical capabilities for materials science research and development. The Titan3 S/TEM combines scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) functionalities in a single instrument, offering users the ability to acquire detailed information about the structure and composition of a wide range of samples.

Fabrication and Characterization of STEM Samples

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The STEM samples were prepared using a FIB system. Two cross-sectional lamellas were lifted out from the crystals, which were used for fabricating HB1 and HB2. HAADF-STEM images are taken with the Thermo Fisher Titan3 S/TEM equipped with a spherical aberration corrector. The atomic displacement analysis43 was performed to quantitatively analyze the local domain structures.

Detailed Structural Analysis of BaMnSb2

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Previous work reported BaMnSb2 possesses a centrosymmetric tetragonal structure with the space group of I4/mmm13 (link),17 (link). As will be shown here, this material indeed involves weak orthorhombic distortion, which is hard to be resolved. We performed comprehensive structural analyses using STEM, neutron scattering, and optical SHG. The STEM sample was prepared using a focused ion beam (FIB) system. Two cross-sectional lamellas perpendicular to each other (oriented in [100] and [010] direction, respectively) were lifted out from the same crystal. The atomic resolution HAADF-STEM images are taken with the Thermo Fisher Titan3 S/TEM equipped with a spherical aberration corrector.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
