Preparation of Chromium Stock Solution

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The stock solution of chromium was prepared by dissolving Cr(NO3)3 (Sigma-Aldrich, Bellefonte, PA, US) in deionized Milli-Q water at the concentration of 1 mM Cr(III) and sterilized by filtration in Millex-GP 0.2 μm filters (Millipore, USA). Working concentrations of Cr(III) were obtained by serial dilution. This solution was stored in the dark at 4°C.

Silver
nitrate (AgNO3), hydrogen tetrachloroaurate(III) (HAuCl4·3H2O), N,N-diisopropylethylamine
(DIPEA), succinic anhydride, sodium borohydride (NaBH4),
ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH, 30%, 15.7 M), PAA (MW: 100k,
35% wt in H2O), PBS buffer, Al(NO3)3, As2O3, As2O5, CaCl2, CdCl2, CeCl3, CrBr2, Cr(NO3)3, CuCl2, FeCl2, FeCl3, HgCl2, MgCl2, Pb(NO3)2, and ZnCl2 were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich.
Glucose, sodium hydroxide (NaOH), and dimethylformamide (DMF) were
purchased from Fisher Scientific. Cyanine7.5 carboxylic acid was purchased
from Lumiprobe. All chemicals were used without further purification,
and the glassware was cleaned using aqua regia comprised of a 3:1
mixture of HCl and HNO3 by volume. Deionized water (DI-H2O) at the resistivity of 18.2 MΩ·cm was obtained
from a Milli-Q system. ProPlate 64-well multichambers were purchased
from Grace Bio-Labs. Polysine slides were purchased from Thermo Scientific,
and the slides were carboxylated before the growth of Ag-NIFs. Briefly,
the Polysine slides were ultrasonically cleaned in the order of solvent
baths of acetone, methanol, and DI-H2O for 5 min each.
Then, five slides were immersed in a DMF solution containing succinic
anhydride (0.45 g) and DIPEA (0.6 mL) for 18 h. The slides were cleaned
sequentially with EtOH and DI-H2O, and store at 4 °C
after spin-drying.

Konjac Glucomannan Characterization and Metal Interactions

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Konjac glucomanan (KgM), with 95.8% purity, was from TCS-Mart, Thailand. (0.25% w/v KgM, 23.0  C had viscosity of 218.0 cP, Mwt was of 250 kDa). AgNO3 (analytical grade), Cr (NO3)3, HgCl2 were from Sigma Aldrich, other metal salts include KNO3, NaNO3, ZnSO4.7H20, Ca (NO3)2.4H2O, CoCl2.6H2O, CdCl2.2.5H2O, CuSO4.5H2O and Al (NO3)2.9H2O from APS Ajax Finechem, MnCl2.4H2O from QReC, Pb (NO3)2 was from Spectrum Chemical, Fe2SO4.7H2O from Merck, while FeCl3.6H2O, MgCl2.6H2O and NiCl2.8H2O were from LOBA CHEMIE. The listed chemicals were used for the selectivity and interference studies. All reagents were prepared using milli-Q water from Millipore water purifier system.

Analytical Ranking of Chemicals

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The chemicals of analytical ranking for example 2-Nitrobenzaldehyde, 3-Nitrobenzaldehyde, 4-Nitrobenzaldehyde, 4-Methyl-benzenesulfonylhydrazine, AgNO3, AuCl3, CdSO4, Co(NO3)2, Cr(NO3)3, HgCl2, NiCl2, Y(NO3)3, ZnSO4, EtOH, MeOH, NaH2PO4, Na2HPO4, and nafion (5% ethanolic solution) were purchased from the Sigma Aldrich company, and used as received. A mother solution of Y3+ (100.0 mM) was prepared from the purchased chemical, Y(NO3)3. A Stuart scientific SMP3 (version 5.0) melting point apparatus (Bibby Scientific Limited, Staffordshire, UK) was used to record the melting point (m.p.), and the reported m.p. was not corrected. 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectra were recorded on an AVANCE-III instrument (400 MHz, Bruker, Fallanden, Switzerland) at 300 k, and chemical shifts were reported in ppm with reference with residual solvent signal. FTIR spectra were recorded as neat on a Thermo scientific NICOLET iS50 FTIR spectrometer (Madison, WI, USA). UV-V is study was conducted using Evolution 300 UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Thermo scientific). I-V method was carried out in order to detect Y3+ at a selective point using the modified 2-MNBBSH/GCE by Keithley electrometer (6517A, USA). Warning! Yttrium is poisonous. So, a minute amount of this chemical can be used for the preparation of the essential solution with care.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
