Calibur flow cytometry system

Manufactured by BD
Sourced in United States

The Calibur flow cytometry system is a laboratory instrument designed for analyzing and sorting cells and particles in a fluid sample. It utilizes laser-based technology to measure and quantify various characteristics of individual cells, such as size, granularity, and the expression of specific proteins or markers on the cell surface. The Calibur system provides researchers and clinicians with a tool to gather valuable data about cell populations, which can be used in a wide range of applications, including immunology, oncology, and stem cell research.

For cytometry, treated cells were blown down using cold phosphate-buffered saline (PBS, Invitrogen, San Diego, CA, USA), and 4 × 105 cells were counted and suspended in 100 µL PBS supplemented with 4% FBS. Cells were then incubated with fluorescein isothiocyanate-anti-mouse CD86 (1:40; BioLegend, San Diego, CA, USA), allophycocyanin-anti-mouse CD206 (1:40; BD Pharmingen™, San Diego, CA, USA) at 4 °C for 30 min. After washing thrice with PBS, labeled cells were suspended in 100 µL PBS, and data were acquired via the fluorescence-activated cell sorting Calibur flow cytometry system (BD Bioscience, San Jose, CA, USA) and analyzed using the CytExpert software (Beckman Coulter, Inc., Brea, CA, USA).

Annexin V Apoptosis Detection

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cell death was assessed by FITC Annexin V Apoptosis Detection Kit with 7-AAD (Cat. #:640,922) from BioLegend according to the manufacturer’s instructions and then analyzed with a flow cytometry calibur™ Flow Cytometry system (BD Biosciences). Data were analyzed and visualized using FlowJo software (flowjo.com).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
