Sorghum bicolor Methanol Extraction

The Sorghum bicolor (SB) was purchased from Chuncheon local market, Korea. The collected SB was dried and powdered using electric blender. Approximately 500 g of SB powder was soaked in 500 mL of 100% methanol (Daejung, Korea) for 3 days and repeated for 3 times to collect extraction. The solvent extract was collected, filtered, and evaporated using a vacuum evaporator (IKA- RV8, Japan). The evaporated sample was dried under a boiling water bath (IKA-HB10, Japan) at 40°C to obtain yield.

Extraction of Medicinal Plant Leaves

The collected HCLLs were dried at a shady area at room temperature (20–22 °C), and dried leaves were powdered using an electric blender. Approximately 200 g of HCLLs powder was soaked in 500 mL of 100% methanol (Daejung, Korea) for 3 days and repeated 3 times to collect the extraction. The solvent extract was collected, filtered, and evaporated using a vacuum evaporator (IKA-RV8, Japan). Quantification of PVAc via HPLC

The standard of PVAc (USP Reference Standard) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Darmstadt, Germany). HPLC-grade water, methanol, and acetonitrile were obtained from Daejung Chemicals and Metals (Gyeonggi-do, Korea). A 0.2-μm polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) filter was obtained from Whatman (Maidstone, England).
Stock standard solution of PVAc was prepared in acetonitrile at 1000 mg/L and stored at −4 °C until use. Dilution of standard was used to prepare concentrations of 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, and 900 mg/L. All dilution standards were used immediately after preparation.

(St. Louis, MO, USA) and used after grinding into fine particles and drying in a vacuum oven together with phosphorus pentoxide, 18-crown-6 (18C6, 99%), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO, 99%), N,N-dimethlacetamide (DMAc, 99%), 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP, 99%), sulfolane (99%), toluene (99.5%), acetic acid (99%), chloroform (HPLC, 99.9%), and polyethylene glycol (PEG, 400 g/mol) were purchased from Aldrich. Methanol was purchased from Daejung Chemical (Gyeonggi-do, Korea), Commercial PSU was procured from BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany). All chemicals were used without further purification unless stated.

Soy-PC Liposome Preparation and Characterization
