Collagenase was from Worthington Biochemical Corporation (Lakewood, NJ, USA). Iodogen was from Pierce Chemicals (Rockford, IL, USA), and carrier-free Na¹²⁵I from PerkinElmer Norge AS (Oslo, Norway). LysoTracker Red DND-99, CellMask Green, and AlexaFluor-647 carboxylic acid were from ThermoFisher Scientific (Oslo, Norway). Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) was from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Formaldehyde-treated bovine serum albumin (FSA) was prepared by treating BSA with 10% formaldehyde in 0.2 M carbonate buffer, pH 10, for 3 days as described^{52 (link)}.
