Primary antibody against cd31

Manufactured by Abcam
Sourced in United Kingdom

The primary antibody against CD31 is a laboratory reagent used to detect and identify the CD31 protein, also known as PECAM-1 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1). CD31 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed by endothelial cells and is involved in cell-cell adhesion and signaling.

Immunohistochemical Analysis of CD31

The paraffin sections (4 µm thickness) were cut transversely via the lesion area. After deparaffinizing and antigen retrieving, the section was exposed to primary antibody against CD31 (1:200, Abcam, Cambridge, UK) overnight at 4 °C. Next, the section was exposed to secondary antibodies (anti-rabbit IgG antibodies) for 1 h. Lastly, the section was stained with diaminobenzidine (DAB) for visualization and was recorded with optical microscopy (Olympus). The Image-Pro Plus 6.0 was employed to count the positive cells.

Quantifying Angiogenesis in Cryo-sectioned Tumors

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cryo-sectioned tumor tissues (5 µm) were incubated overnight with a primary antibody against CD31 (1:200, Abcam). The sections were then incubated with an anti-rabbit secondary biotinylated antibody (1:1000, Vector Laboratories) and visualized with streptavidin conjugated to fluorescein (Vector Laboratories). Fluorescence was measured with a confocal laser scanning microscope (Leica).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
