Automated analyzer

Manufactured by Sysmex
Sourced in United Kingdom

The Sysmex automated analyzer is a laboratory equipment designed to perform automated hematology and hemostasis testing. It is capable of analyzing various blood parameters, including cell counts, blood cell morphology, and coagulation factors. The analyzer utilizes advanced technology to provide accurate and reliable results, supporting clinical decision-making in medical settings.

Comprehensive Blood Biomarker Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood samples were transported to the laboratory within 3 hours, centrifuged, and aliquoted. Blood films were Giemsa stained and read for malaria and parasite density (additional details on laboratory procedures are shown in Supplementary Data 1). Hemoglobin was measured (Sysmex automated analyzer) on fresh whole blood, and zinc protoporphyrin by fluorometry (Aviv Biomedical). Plasma ferritin and sTfR were measured using mean values from duplicate enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) samples (Spectro Ferritin S-22 and TFC 94 TfR, RAMCO Inc). CRP was measured by ELISA (EU59131IBL, GmbH). Intra-assay coefficients of variation were all <10%. Plasma hepcidin was measured by competitive ELISA at an international reference laboratory (see laboratory procedures in Supplementary Data 1).

Comprehensive Blood and Metabolic Profiling

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A full blood count was completed using a Sysmex automated analyzer (Sysmex, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom (UK)) at Ulster University. Liver, bone, and electrolyte profiles were completed on non-fasting serum samples using a Roche Modular Analyzer. Parathyroid hormone (PTH) was measured in plasma using a fully automated clinical chemistry and immunoassay system. Liver, bone, electrolyte, and PTH analysis was conducted by Altnagelvin Hospital Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
