Isoflurane anesthesia

Manufactured by Kent Scientific

Isoflurane anesthesia is a laboratory equipment used to administer isoflurane, a volatile anesthetic agent, to animals during scientific procedures. It provides a controlled and regulated delivery of the anesthetic gas to induce and maintain a state of unconsciousness in the subject.

Rat Nerve Injury Surgery Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Using published procedures [31 (link)], 52 rats underwent surgery [23 (link)]. For SNI (n = 29 rats), a portion of the nerve was removed, leaving the sural nerve intact. In sham surgeries (n = 23 rats) nerves were not manipulated. Surgeries used isoflurane anesthesia (Kent Scientific).

Hypertension Induction in Rats

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Four-month-old rats were treated with 10 mg/kg/day (males weighing 0.38–0.43 kg) and 7.5 mg/kg/day (females weighing 0.23–0.28 kg) L-NAME in drinking water for 1 month, respectively. These doses were established previously (Lai et al., 2021 (link)) such that hypertension is induced without visible effects on normal cage and grooming behavior. Drug exposure was estimated by measuring water consumption in each cage. Hypertension was confirmed by measuring systolic blood pressure at 5, 6, and 9 months of age using the CODA-HT2 tail-cuff system under isoflurane anesthesia (Kent Scientific). Statistical significance was measured by t-test.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
