Cocktail of proteases inhibitors

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in United States

The Cocktail of proteases inhibitors is a laboratory product that contains a mixture of compounds that inhibit the activity of proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins. This product is commonly used in research settings to preserve the integrity of protein samples during extraction, purification, and analysis.

Quantifying Alzheimer's Peptide in Flies

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Five fly heads from our line GMR/Aβ42 carrying two copies of the transgene and 5 heads from the GMR/Hj2.12 line were homogenized and proteins extracted in 50 mM Tris–HCl, pH 8 containing 5 M guanidine and a cocktail of proteases inhibitors (Sigma St. Louis, MO). After centrifugation at 10,000 × g, proteins in the supernatant were quantified using a bicinchoninic acid kit (Thermo Scientific, Rockford, IL). Aβ42 concentration was determined using a commercial capture ELISA kit (Invitrogen Frederick, MD) following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Spinal Cord Injury: Neurotrophic Factor Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Five animals in the CytoCon group were sacrificed at 3 days after SCI, then five animals each from the CytohUCB group and CytoCon group were sacrificed at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after SCI. Following sacrifice, the spinal cord (T7–T12) was extracted and homogenized with a cocktail of proteases inhibitors (Sigma, USA) in RIPA buffer (Millipore, USA), then centrifuged at 10,000 × g and 4℃. Supernatants were harvested and quantitative analysis of nerve growth factor (NGF), brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) was conducted using an ELISA kit (Boster Biological Technology, China).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
