Resveratrol-Dendrimer Formulation Development

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The materials used for this formulation include methanol, cyclohexane, water, resveratrol and dendrimers. The methanol came from OmniSolv (Billerica, MA, USA). The cyclohexane was manufactured by Honeywell Burdick & Jackson (Muskegon, MI, USA). The water used was from a Millipore system using a 0.18 μm filter. Generation 4, diaminobutane core, amine surface, poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers were purchased from NanoSynthons (Mount Pleasant, MI, USA) and trans-resveratrol from Sigma-Aldrich (Milwaukee, WI, USA).

Liquid Product Analysis of Biomass Conversion

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The analysis of the liquid products of the reaction necessitated the use of a number of high quality chemical reagents (detailed information regarding chemical grades can be found in ref. 42 (link)), i.e., linoleic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, tridecane, cyclohexanone, a mixture of 37 fatty acid methyl esters (all Sigma-Aldrich), heptane, dodecane, cyclohexane, chloroform (all Honeywell) and a calibration sample kit #2 for n-C8 to n-C18 alkanes (Agilent Technologies). The main components of the palm oil used as feed are presented in Table 1.

Sterol Standards and Cell Culture Reagents

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All sterol standards (listed in Table 3) were bought from Avanti Polar Lipids (Alabaster, AL, USA), except cholesterol, which is from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Chloroform, cyclohexane, 1-propanol, and methanol (all LC-MS grade) were purchased from Honeywell (Charlotte, NC, USA). Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM), Penicillin-Streptomycin (P/S), Trypsin, and Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) were bought from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany).

Emulsification of Hydrophobic Silica Particles

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The hydrophobized fumed silica particles, AEROSIL® R972 and AEROSIL® R816, were kindly provided by Evonik (Dubai, United Arab Emirates). The AEROSIL® R972 silica particles, being the most hydrophobic, were employed to stabilize the W/O emulsion. The less hydrophobic AEROSIL® R816 silica particles, which can easily be dispersed in the water phase, were used to stabilize the O/W emulsion. Both types of silica particles were utilized in emulsification without any pre-treatment. The median diameter of both types of silica particles was typically around 200 nm [2 (link)]. Whey protein isolate (WPI, 92% purity), soy protein isolate (SPI, 90% purity), and pea protein isolate (PPI, 80% purity) were supplied by Myprotein (Manchester, UK). Cyclohexane (≥99.5%) was purchased from Honeywell (Charlotte, NC, USA). Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil was provided by NOW® Sports (Bloomingdale, IL, United States). Maltodextrin (dextrose equivalent: 16.5–19.5), methylene blue (≥95%), Nile red, and Tween® 20 were provided by Sigma Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA).

Pesticide Certified Standards Preparation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Certified pesticide standards (purity 94–99%) were obtained from Dr. Ehrenstorfer LGC Standards (Augsburg, Germany), Toronto Research Chemicals (Toronto, ON, Canada) and Sigma Aldrich (Seelze, Germany). Individual stock solutions of pesticides at concentrations of 1000 µg/mL were prepared in acetone or Dimethylformamide and stored in amber screw-capped glass vials at below −18 °C. Mixed standard solutions for validation and calibration were prepared by appropriate dilutions of stock standard solutions with acetonitrile. LC-MS purity-grade acetonitrile, acetone, cyclohexane, and ethyl acetate were supplied by Honeywell (Charlotte, North Carolina, USA). Dimethylformamide, sodium sulphate (anhydrous), and sodium chloride were obtained from Sigma Aldrich (Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, USA). Tributyl phosphate (Sigma-Aldrich, Seelze, Germany) was used as an internal standard and prepared as a spiking solution at concentrations of 10 µg/mL in acetonitrile. Ultrapure water (18.2 MΩ/cm) was produced by the Direct-Q® 5 UV System (Millipore Corporation Merck, Darmstadt, Germany).

Synthesis and Characterization of Zn Ferrites

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The synthesis of Zn ferrites has been done using the following chemicals: iron (III) acetylacetonate (≥98.00%, Merck Schuchardt OHG, Hohenbrunn, Germany), zinc (II) acetylacetonate (≥98.00%, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany), oleic acid (Sigma-Aldrich, Steinheim, Germany), tetra ethylene glycol (Carl-Roth, Karlsruhe, Germany, ≥99%) and benzyl ether (Sigma-Aldrich, Steinheim, Germany). The following lipids have been used in the preparation of TsMLs: 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC) (Lipoid, Ludwigshafen, Germany), 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DSPC) (Lipoid, Ludwigshafen, Germany), and cholesterol (Sigma-Aldrich, Steinheim, Germany). About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
