Diff quik stain

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Diff-Quik stain is a quick and easy-to-use staining kit designed for the differential staining of blood and other cellular samples. It consists of three solutions that are used to stain and fix the samples, enabling the visualization of cellular structures and nuclei under a microscope.

Bronchoalveolar Lavage in Nfib Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) was collected in Nfib hemizygous and Wt mice following 66 h of exposure to O2 or room air (N = 4 in each group). The trachea was cannulated and the airways were instilled with normal saline (1 mL × 3). Approximately 0.8 mL of saline was recovered per wash. The lavage fluid was centrifuged at 150 g for 10 min at 4°C. The supernatant of the first aliquot was stored at −80°C for cytokine assays. The pellet collected from the centrifuged tube was used for the cell counts. Cell counts were performed on the Coulter Counter Multisizer 3. Differential count was performed by counting cells on cytospin preparations of the resuspended cell pellet stained with diff‐Quik stain (Fisher Scientific, Pittsburgh, PA).

Fungal Infection in Knockout Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
C57BL/6, DEFB1−/−, and IL-1R1−/− mice were injected with 5 × 106 colony forming units (CFU) of C. albicans in 1 mL sterile PBS. After 16 h, the peritoneal cavity of mice was lavaged with 10 mL of DMEM media without FCS. Cells were centrifuged and counted on a hemacytometer. Diff-Quik stain (Fisher Scientific) was used to determine the portion of cells which were neutrophils.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
