Cell Cycle and Apoptosis Analysis

For cell cycle distribution, cells were harvested, fixed with 70% ethanol overnight at −20 °C and incubated with PI/RNase staining buffer (BD Biosciences) in the dark. The fluorescence of the stained cells was measured using a FACScan flow cytometer (Becton Dickinson, San Diego, CA, USA). Cell apoptosis was determined by flow cytometry after staining with Annexin V and PI detection kit (BD Biosciences, San Diego, CA, USA).
