Histological Analysis of Immune Response

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Histological analysis was performed to evaluate the immune response induced by different samples. The tissues surrounding the wounds were harvested from euthanized rats, and each tissue specimen was fixed with 10% formalin, dehydrated in graded ethanol, and embedded in paraffin wax. The sections (4 μm thick) were prepared from each sample and then applied for H&E and Masson’s trichrome staining. Afterward, the samples were examined using a light microscope (Leica Microsystems) with specific image analysis software from Zeiss.

Histological Evaluation of Wound Healing

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
To evaluate the local and systemic immune response of different membranes, tissue specimens were obtained from each wound area by sharp dissection at days 10 and 21. Skin tissue samples were obtained by necropsy, formalin fixed and paraffin embedded for histological processing. Sections of 3 µm were obtained from each sample using a cryostat microtome (Leica CM1900) and then stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) or with Toluidine blue. Subsequently, samples were visualized using a light microscope with a specific image analysis software from Zeiss. Skin fragments without membrane were used as control. Other tissue samples such as brain, lung, liver, spleen and kidney, were also obtained by necropsy and analyzed to check for any morphological.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
