Lymph Node Histopathology Examination

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
For histopathological examination, standard staining consisting of haematoxylin and eosin staining was performed. In addition, immunohistochemical workup of lymph node tissue was performed according to the underlying tumour type on an automated platform (Ventana Benchmark Ultra, Ventana Medical Systems, AZ, USA) adherent to manufacturer's protocols as follows: Melan-A (Clone: A103, ready to use kit; Ventana Medical Systems) and MITF (Clone: D5, 1:100; Agilent Dako, CA, USA) for melanoma and CK20 (Clone: Ks20.8, 1:1000; Agilent Dako) and Synaptophysin (Clone: MRQ-40, ready to use kit; Ventana Medical Systems) for Merkel cell carcinoma. Histopathologic evaluation of the lymph nodes was performed by an experienced pathologist from the Institute of Pathology or by an experienced dermatopathologist from the Department of Dermatology, Essen University Hospital. Histopathological lymph node specimens were digitised with the Aperio AT2 whole-slide scanner (Leica, Wetzlar, Germany) at 20× resolution.

SARS-CoV-2 Histopathology in Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Mice were infected with USA-WA1/2020 and sacrificed 3-dpi. Tissues were fixed in 10% buffered formalin and processed through graded ethanol and xylene solutions and then embedded in paraffin with a Leica Peloris automated processor. Five-micron sections were deparaffinized and stained with hematoxylin and eosin on a Leica ST5020 automated histochemical stainer. The slides were scanned at 40X on a Leica AT2 whole slide scanner.

Tissue Fixation and Histological Staining

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Tissues were immersion-fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for 72 hours at room temperature and then processed through graded ethanol and xylene and into paraffin in a Leica Peloris automated processor. Five-micrometer, paraffin-embedded sections were deparaffinized and stained with hematoxylin (Leica, 3801575) and eosin (Leica, 3801619) on a Leica ST5020 automated histochemical strainer. Slides were scanned at original magnification 40× on a Leica AT2 whole-slide scanner and images transferred to the NYU Omero web-accessible image database.

Histological Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 Lungs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The lungs of SARS-CoV-2-infected mice were harvested 3-dpi. The tissue was fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for 72 h at room temperature and then processed through graded ethanol, xylene, and into paraffin in a Leica Peloris automated processor. Then, 5-μm paraffin-embedded sections were deparaffinized and stained with hematoxylin (Leica, 3801575) and eosin (Leica, 3801619) on a Leica ST5020 automated histochemical strainer. Slides were scanned at 40× magnification on a Leica AT2 whole slide scanner, and the images were transferred to the NYULH Omero web-accessible image database.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
