The paired human melanoma cell lines were gifts from the Roger Lo lab. The parental cell line M238 and M229 were established from patients' biopsies (UCLA IRB approval No. 02-08-067) [55] (link). And the BRAFi-resistant cell lines M238R1 and M229R5 were derived from long-term high-dose PLX4032 treatment of M238 [11] (link). Cells were sustained in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle medium (DMEM) including 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS), glutamine, and 1% penicillin/streptomycin. For packaging virus, HEK293T cells were grown in same medium with melanoma cell lines. All cell lines were mycoplasma free.
