Nicolet avatar 360 spectrometer

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Sourced in United States

The Nicolet/Avatar 360 spectrometer is a powerful analytical instrument used for spectroscopic analysis. It is designed to perform high-resolution Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, which can be used to identify and characterize a wide range of materials. The spectrometer's core function is to capture infrared absorption or emission spectra of samples, providing detailed information about their molecular structure and composition.

NMR and FT-IR Spectroscopic Characterization

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Varian 400 or 500 MHz spectrometers were used to record proton (1H) and carbon (13C) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra using deuterated chloroform (CDCl3) with tetramethylsilane as an internal reference or deuterated dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO-d6) as a solvent and internal reference. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra were obtained using a Thermo Nicolet/Avatar 360 spectrometer, with samples (1–3 wt %) ground and pressed with potassium bromide (KBr) into a disc using an IR pellet die (International Crystal Laboratories, Garfield, NJ) or solvent casted via dichloromethane (DCM) to acquire a thin film on sodium chloride (NaCl) plates. Each spectra was an average of 32 scans.

PET Sample Analysis by ATR-FTIR Spectroscopy

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The PET samples were analyzed by the Fourier transform IR attenuated total internal reflection (ATR) spectroscopy using a Nicolet Avatar 360 spectrometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA). The ATR element was a zinc selenide crystal with a 12-fold reflection and a reflection angle of 45°. The signal accumulation mode was experimentally selected based on the results of 32 scans. The resolution was 2 cm−1. The spectra were recorded in a wavenumber (ν) range of 1400–4000 cm−1 and interpreted in accordance with [28 (link),29 (link),30 (link),31 ].

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
