Bromo 2 deoxy uridine brdu labeling and detection kit 1

Manufactured by Roche

The Bromo-2'-deoxy-uridine (BrdU) Labeling and Detection Kit is a laboratory tool used to detect and quantify cell proliferation. It provides a method for labeling and detecting cells that have incorporated BrdU, a synthetic thymidine analog, during DNA synthesis. The kit includes reagents for BrdU labeling, detection, and visualization, allowing researchers to assess cell proliferation in various experimental settings.

Cell Proliferation Assay with BrdU

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cell proliferation was evaluated by Bromo-2′-deoxy-uridine (BrdU) Labeling and Detection Kit I (Roche). One hour before the end of the experiment, rCPCs were incubated with BrdU (10 μM). The cells were fixed and stained as suggested by manufacturer's instructions. Cell proliferation was determined by the percentage of BrdU-positive cells.

Cell Viability and Proliferation Assays

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cell viability was evaluated using MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) tetrazolium-Sigma-Aldrich®) assay according with manufacturer recommendation. Absorbance was immediately measured at 570 nm in microplate reader (Bio-Rad 2550). Results were expressed as percentage of undifferentiated group. Cell proliferation was monitored using bromo-2′-deoxy-uridine (BrdU) labeling and detection kit I (Roche Diagnostics) after 3, 21 and 27 days, according to manufacturer recommendation. DAPI staining was performed for cell counting at a 1:2000 dilution, for 15 min at room temperature. Positive cells were quantified using the immunofluorescence microscopy (ImageXpress) with an excitation wavelength from 450 to 500 nm. Results were expressed as percentage of BrdU-positive cells related to total number of cells.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
