Total iron binding capacity assay kit

Manufactured by Nanjing Jiancheng
Sourced in China

The Total Iron Binding Capacity Assay Kit is a laboratory tool designed to measure the total iron binding capacity in a sample. It quantifies the maximum amount of iron that can be bound by the iron-binding proteins present in the sample.

Quantitative Tissue Iron Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Quantitative measurement of tissue nonheme iron was performed using the method of Torrance and Bothwelld [27 (link), 34 ]. The results are presented as micrograms of iron per gram wet weight of tissue. Serum iron concentrations were determined using a serum iron assay kit (Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering institute, Nanjing, China, Catalog A040-1-1). Total iron binding capacity (TIBC) was determined using a total iron binding capacity assay kit (Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering institute, Nanjing, China, Catalog A039-1-1), according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Transferrin saturation was directly calculated from the serum iron and TIBC.

Serum Iron and Binding Capacity Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum iron content was measured using serum iron assay kit (Jiancheng, Nanjing, China) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Total iron binding capacity was measured using total iron binding capacity assay kit (Jiancheng, Nanjing, China) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Optical density was measured absorbance at 520 nm by a microplate reader (Molecular Devices, Sunnyvale, USA). And transferrin saturation (TSAT, %) = serum iron (mg/L)/total iron binding capacity (mg/L) × 100.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
