Preparation of High-Purity ADN Standards

Synthesis of Polymeric Crosslinking Agent

In this work, 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid (AMPS, 98.0 wt%), acrylic acid (AA, 99.0 wt%), acrylamide (AM, 99.0 wt%), and 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP, 99.0 wt%) were purchased from Shanghai Aladdin Reagent Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China. (NH4)2S2O8 (99.9 wt%), and NaHSO3 (99.9 wt%) were purchased from Sino-pharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China. Organic zirconium crosslinking agent was obtained from Shengli Oilfield, Dongying, China. All chemicals were used as received without further purification. Deionized water and simulated formation water (3 wt% NaCl + 0.05 wt% CaCl2) were prepared in the lab. The artificial sandstone cores (10 cm in length and 2.5 cm in diameter) were purchased from Haian Oil Scientific Research Instruments Co., Ltd., Nantong, China.

Hormone Regulation of Rice Rhizosphere

Four-leaf seedlings were sprayed with 0.18 mM GA3, 0.12 mM uniconazole (S3307) and 100 mg·L-1 sodium bisulfate (NaHSO3) aqueous solutions, respectively. Control plants were treated with distilled water. Gibberellic acid3 was purchased from Jiangxi Xinrunfeng Biochemical Co., Ltd (Ji’an, China), S3307 was purchased from Sichuan Academy of Chemical Industry Research and Design (Chengdu, China) and NaHSO3 was purchased from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd.
The Fe and Mn plaque dose-response design after hormone treatments. Four-leaf rice seedlings grown in KB (1.2 mg·L-1 Fe2+ and 0.5 mg·L-1 Mn2+, pH 5.0) were harvested at a GA3 concentration gradient (0.03, 0.06, 0.12, 0.18, and 0.24 mM) or its inhibitor, S3307 (0.04, 0.08, 0.12, 0.16, and 0.20 mM) 60 h after spraying. Treatments were compared with distilled-water-treated samples (0 mM).
Fe and Mn plaque time-course design after hormone treatments. Four-leaf rice seedlings grown in KB (1.2 mg·L-1 Fe2+ and 0.5 mg·L-1 Mn2+, pH 5.0) were treated with 0 or 0.18 mM GA3 foliar spray for 96 h. Plants not treated with GA3 were the control.

Listeria monocytogenes Bacterial Culture

Microfiltration membrane (pore diameter: 0.22 μmol L−1) was ordered from Tianjin Jinteng Experimental Equipment Co., Ltd. (Tianjin, China). Ultrapure water (Millipore, 18.2 MΩ cm, MA, USA) was used in all experiments.
