Antibody-based Protein Expression Analysis

In this study, the antibodies respectively against p38, p-p38, ERK, p-ERK, Akt1/2/3, p-Akt1/2/3, OGT, OGA, CD68 and β-actin were purchased from Santa Cruz Biotechnology (Santa Cruz, CA, USA). Monoclonal Anti-β-O-Linked N-Acetylglucosamine Clone CTD110.6 was obtained from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA). Other antibodies including anti-JNK, anti-p-JNK, Horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG and HRP-conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG were purchased from Cell Signaling Technology (Danvers, MA, USA).
Chemicals such as 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone (PMP), 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), Tris, Tween 20, trifluoroacetic acid, LPS (from Escherichia coli 055:B5), 6-diazo-5-oxo-L-norleucine (DON) and bovine serum albumin were obtained from Sigma. The ABC kit and Agarose wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) were purchased from Vector Laboratories (Lowellville, OH, USA). Thiamet G (Thi G) was obtained from Selleck Chemicals (Houston, TX, USA). RPMI 1640 was purchased from Corning Incorporated (Corning, NY, USA), penicillin, streptomycin and heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum (FBS) was from Gibco (Grand Island, NY, USA). All the other chemicals including sodium dodecyl sulfonate, ammonium persulfate, isopropanol, hydrochloric acid, glycine, sodium chloride and ammonia were obtained from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China).

Synthesis and Characterization of PVA-Butanal Adduct

Surfactant Solution Preparation and Characterization

Anionic surfactants dodecyl
carboxylic sodium (LAS), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and sodium
dodecyl sulfonate (SLS), cationic surfactant dodecyltrimethylammonium
bromide (DTAB), and zwitterionic surfactant 3-(N,N-dimethylmyristylammonio) propanesulfonate (SB3–14)
with 98% purity were purchased from Sinopharm (Beijing). The sulfobetaine
surfactant formulation PCT-10 with an activity content of about 30%
is from Oilchem. The chemical structures of all of the surfactants
are presented in Figure 1. NaCl, CaCl2·2HO, MgCl2·6H2O, NaHCO3, and Na2SO4 of analytical
grade were obtained from Sinopharm (Beijing) for the preparation of
HSW with the composition shown in Table 1. The composition and salinity of water are
based on field data. The prepared high-salinity water was heated at
95 °C for 2 weeks and filtered through a 0.45 μm membrane
before being used for surfactant solution preparation. This ensures
no salts precipitate to interfere with the stability of surfactant
solutions. The surfactants are dissolved in HSW or deionized water,
respectively, and the resultant concentrations are 0.2%. It should
be noted that LAS and SLS cannot dissolve in HSW at room temperature,
and the solutions are prepared in NaCl with the same TDS at 40 °C.
Crude oil used in emulsifying tests is a degassed and dehydrated light
oil from a carbonate reservoir. The viscosity of the oil was 2 cP
at 90 °C.

Deionized water was processed from the laboratory pure water device. Without specific notes, all chemicals and materials were used as received.

In order to eliminate the inhibitor, the activated carbon adsorption method and alkali washing with NaOH or NaHCO3 were used for the water-soluble monomer (AA, MAA, HEMA) and other monomer (BA, BMA, St), respectively. Other materials were used without further purification.
