The LIVE/DEAD BacLight fluorescence stain is a two-color nucleic acid stain used to distinguish live and dead bacterial cells. It consists of a mixture of SYTO 9 green-fluorescent nucleic acid stain and the red-fluorescent nucleic acid stain, propidium iodide.
