Fetal bovine serum, trypsin-Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid (0.05%), and phenol red were provided by Gibco Co, Ltd (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Cleveland, Ohio). A Micro Reduced Glutathione (GSH) Assay Kit was provided by Solarbio Science and Technology Co (Beijing, China). Rabbit anti-S100A9 was purchased from Cell Signaling Technology, Inc (Beverly, Mass). Rabbit anti-VNN1 was purchased from the Proteintech Group (Chicago, Ill). Goat antirabbit IgG H&L (Horseradish Peroxidase) was obtained from Abcam (Cambridge, UK). An Annexin V-FITC/PI Apoptosis Detection Kit was provided by Dalian Meilun Biotechnology Co, Ltd (Dalian, China).

Total RNA Extraction and qPCR Analysis

RNAex Pro RNA reagent purchased from Accurate Biology in Hunan, China was utilized for the isolation and extraction of total cell RNA. Subsequently, the synthesis of cDNA was performed using an Evo M-MLV RT MIX kit, also purchased from Accurate Biology in Hunan, China. The mRNA expression level of various genes was quantified using a SYBR® green premix Pro Taq HS qPCR kit (Accurate Biology; Hunan, China) in an ABI 7500 real-time PCR system (Applied Biosystems; CA, USA). Table 1 displays the primer sequences.

qRT-PCR Analysis of Cultured Cells

Quantitative Real-Time PCR Analysis

Total RNA was isolated using RNAex Pro RNA reagent (Accurate Biology; Hunan, China) according to the manufacturer's instructions. RNA was then reverse-transcribed using the PrimeScript® RT reagent kit (TaKaRa, Dalian, China), and mRNA expression levels of different genes were quantified using SYBR® Premix Ex Taq™ II (Tli RNaseH Plus) (TaKaRa, Dalian, China) in an ABI 7500 Real-Time PCR System (Applied Biosystems; CA, USA). The primer sequences for the genes are listed in Supplementary Table S1, and they were purchased from Sangon Biotech (Shanghai, China). All gene expression levels were normalized to β-actin, and the fold changes between the different groups were calculated using a standard curve for quantitative analysis.
