Copeptin proavp kryptor

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Sourced in Germany

The Copeptin proAVP KRYPTOR is a laboratory diagnostic test that measures the concentration of copeptin, a surrogate marker for arginine vasopressin (AVP) in human blood samples. The test provides quantitative results and is designed for use with the KRYPTOR analytical platform.

Copeptin and MR-proADM Biomarker Evaluation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
EDTA plasma collected on day 1, 3 and 5 after inclusion was stored at– 80°C. Copeptin and MR-proADM levels were measured using the commercial sandwich immunoluminometric assays B·R·A·H·M·S™ Copeptin proAVP KRYPTOR™ and B·R·A·H·M·S™ MR-proADM KRYPTOR™ (B·R·A·H·M·S GmbH, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Henningsdorf, Germany). The lower limit of quantitation of the assays was 1.23 pmol/L and 0.23 nmol/L, the upper limit of quantitation was 2000 pmol/L and 100 nmol/L for copeptin and MR-proADM, respectively. For MR-proADM, the manufacturer reported for the values between 0.2–0.5 nmol/L and between 0.5–6 nmol/L intra assay precisions of ≤10% and <2–4% and inter assay precisions of ≤18% and <6–11%, respectively. For copeptin, the manufacturer reported for the values between 2–4 pmol/L and between 4–50 pmol/L intra assay precisions of ≤15% and <4–8% and inter assay precisions of ≤18% and <6–10%, respectively. According to maximum inter-assay coefficient of variation (CV%), an increase was set as significant of at least 18% and 20% for copeptin and MR-proADM concentrations, respectively.

Serum Copeptin Measurement Assay

Serum copeptin was measured by an automated 2-site immunofluorescent assay (B·R·A·H·M·S Copeptin proAVP KRYPTOR, ThermoFisher Scientific) at Quest Laboratories. The KRYPTOR assay is linear from 2 – 500 pmol/L with intra-assay coefficient of variation (CV) ≤ 5.2% and inter-assay CV ≤ 3.7%. Other laboratory tests were performed in the College of American Pathologists-accredited UPMC Clinical Laboratories on FDA approved assays, to include serum cortisol measured on the UniCel DxI 800 (Beckman Coulter, Brea, CA, USA), and growth hormone measured on the Immulite 2000 chemiluminescent immunometric assay (Siemens Healthineers). IGF-1 was measured by mass spectrometry (liquid chromatography-high resolution/accurate mass-based LC-MS, Quest Diagnostics, Chantilly, VA USA).

Lactate and Copeptin Measurement Protocols

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Lactate was measured spectrophotometrically through a lactate oxidase-based method on lithium heparin plasma samples using Siemens ADVIA® 1800 Chemistry System. Internal quality controls were performed on a daily basis and results were considered acceptable when within mean ± 2SD.
Serum samples for copeptin were centrifuged and stored at − 20 °C for batch analysis with a commercial immunofluorescence sandwich immunoassay (B.R.A.H.M.S. Copeptin proAVP KRYPTOR, Thermo Scientific). Assay characteristics declared by manufacturer included a 0.7 pmol/L lower detection limit, < 1.08 pmol/L functional sensitivity and < 8% intra-assay (<10% inter-assay) coefficient of variations for concentrations > 4.0 pmol/L.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
