Fat bodies of 20 D. melanogaster 3rd instars were dissected and homogenized in 100 μl lipase assay buffer. Lipase activity was measured by using Lipase Activity Kit (Sigma) according to manufacturer protocol, and was normalized to protein amounts in each homogenate by using the BCA Protein Assay Kit (Invitrogen).
