Annexin 5 fitc and pi reagent

Manufactured by BD
Sourced in United States

Annexin V/FITC and PI reagent is a laboratory product used for the detection and analysis of apoptosis in cell samples. It utilizes the binding properties of Annexin V, a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein, which has a high affinity for phosphatidylserine that is exposed on the surface of apoptotic cells. The reagent also contains propidium iodide (PI), a dye that intercalates with DNA and is used to identify late-stage apoptotic or necrotic cells.

Apoptosis Assay in Cultured Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
After transfection, cells were plated in 96‐well plates with a density of 2×104 cells/well at 37℃, 5% CO2. After incubation for 48 h, cells were stained with Annexin V/FITC and PI reagent (BD, USA) at room temperature in the dark for 20 min. The apoptotic cells were measured by FACS Calibur flow cytometer (BD Biosciences, USA) as per the protocol.

Evaluating miR-1305-induced Apoptosis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cells were transfected with miR-1305 mimics or control miRNA for 48 hrs. After that, cells were harvested by trypsinization and rinsed with pre-cold PBS. To evaluate the cell apoptosis, cells were resuspended in the binding buffer and stained with Annexin V-FITC and PI reagent (BD Biosciences, USA) in the darkness at room temperature (RT). The cell apoptosis was quantified with the flow cytometry (BD Biosciences, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
