Hydrophobic Nanocomposite Films via Sol-Gel

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All reactants and solvents were used as received without further purification. Dimethyldiethoxysilane (DEDMS, 98%), zirconium isopropoxide (Zr(OPri)4), titanium isopropoxide (Ti(OPri)4), tantalum ethoxide (Ta(OEt)5) and niobium ethoxide (Nb(OEt)5) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Ethanol and cyclohexane were obtained from Scharlab.
In a typical synthesis, 0.250 mL of the UCNP suspension in cyclohexane was added to a pre-hydrolyzed DEDMS solution (DEDMS : H2O : EtOH in a 1 : 1 : 1 molar ratio, acidified with HCl at pH = 1, and 30 minutes of hydrolysis). Then, an appropriate amount of the metal alkoxide (M = Ta, Nb, Ti and Zr) was added. The M : Si molar ratio was fixed at 1 : 4. After 30 minutes of stirring, the sol was sonicated for 5 minutes.
For the preparation of monoliths, 2.2 mL of sol was poured into polyethylene round vials (Kartell) and left to dry at 308 K for one week. The final monoliths were cylinders of about 20 mm diameter and 1.5 mm high.
Thin films of around 450 nm thickness were prepared by spin coating on a glass substrate. The nanocomposite made of PDMS–MxOy containing Yb3+/Er3+- or Yb3+/Tm3+-doped UCNPs are referred to in the manuscript as HyTa, HyNb, HyTi and HyZr, followed by the active ions (Yb3+/Er3+ or Yb3+/Er3+).

Fluorescence Binding Assay of Gefitinib

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Gefitinib (GFT) and O-desmethyl gefitinib (GFT-M2) were purchased from Quimigen. O-Desmorpholinopropyl gefitinib (GFT-M1) was purchased from Fluorochem. N-Acetyl-L-tyrosine methyl ester (NAc-TyrMe), N-acetyl-L-tryptophan methyl ester (NAc-TrpMe), anthracene, human serum albumin (HSA) and α1-acid glycoprotein from human plasma (HAG) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. PBS Buffer was prepared by dissolving phosphate-buffered saline tablets (Sigma) using ultrapure water from a Millipore (Milli-Q Synthesis) system. Spectrophotometric solvents (acetonitrile, 1,4-dioxane, toluene and cyclohexane) were obtained from Scharlab and used without further purification.

Gas chromatography GC (HP 5890) equipped with an 63 Ni electron capture detector, using an HP-5 capillary column (30mx0.32 mm i.d. with 0.25μm film thickness). All used analytical-grade solvents for pesticide residue analysis. Petroleum ether, (40-60°C) Analar (BDH, England), dichloromethane, (Jansen Chimica, Belgium), n-hexane (Riedel de-Hean, Germany), acetone, Analar (BDH, England), ethanol, (GCC, U.K.), diethyl ether(GCC, U.K.), ammonia solution (25%) ( Riedel de-Hean, Germany), cyclohexane (Scharlau, Spain), ethyl acetate (Lab-scan, Ireland), toluene ( Riedel de-Hean, Germany). Organochlorine pesticides (OCP's) used internal standards o,p-DDT, p,p-DDT, o,p-DDE, p,p-DDE, o,p-DDD, p, DDD, α-HCH, β-HCH, γ-HCH, aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor, heptachlorepoxide, HCB, and isodrin have been obtained from Dr. Ehrebstorfer GmbH laboratory (Germany). Analyticalgrade anhydrous sodium sulfate (Fluka, Switzerland) has been heated at 550°C for 3hrs and kept in a closed container.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
