Magnapure platform

Manufactured by Roche

The MagnaPure platform is an automated system designed for the extraction and purification of nucleic acids from a variety of sample types. It utilizes magnetic bead-based technology to efficiently isolate and concentrate DNA or RNA samples, preparing them for downstream analytical processes.

HPV DNA Detection and Genotyping

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
HPV laboratory testing was conducted similarly across all study years [13 (link)]. In brief, DNA was extracted using the MagnaPure platform (Total Nucleic Acid Isolation Kit, Roche, the Netherlands) and HPV DNA was amplified using SPF10 primer sets and detected using DNA enzyme-linked immunoassays (HPV-DEIA, DDL Diagnostics Laboratory, the Netherlands). Positive samples were genotyped with line-probe assay (HPV-LiPA25, DDL Diagnostics Laboratory, the Netherlands), which is able to detect hrHPV types 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, and lrHPV types 6, 11, 34, 40, 42, 43, 44, 53, 54, 66, 70, and 74. Also HPV-68, -73, and -97 can be detected, but these types cannot be distinguished from each other and are therefore classified as HPV-68.

Fetal Sex Determination via cfDNA

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Maternal and, when available, paternal gDNA was extracted from whole blood on a MagnaPure platform (Roche) via a MagnaPure compact nucleic acid isolation kit I. If saliva from the father was available, gDNA was extracted with a MagnaPure compact nucleic acid isolation kit I, large volume, on the same platform.
Fetal cfDNA was extracted from maternal plasma on the aforementioned platform as well, also via the large volume kit. This cfDNA was used in a Y chromosome qPCR reaction so that the fetal sex could be determined on the basis of the detection two amplicons for DYS14 and SRY, as has been described.6 (link),9 (link)

HPV DNA Extraction and Genotyping

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
HPV testing protocols were constant across all years and described in detail elsewere.15 Briefly, DNA was extracted using the MagnaPure platform (Total Nucleic Acid Isolation Kit, Roche, the Netherlands) and HPV‐DNA was amplified using the SPF10 primer set and detected using the DNA enzyme‐linked immunoassay (HPV‐DEIA, DDL Diagnostics Laboratory, the Netherlands). Positive samples were genotyped with line‐probe assay (HPV‐LiPA25, DDL Diagnostics Laboratory, the Netherlands), which is able to detect 25 HPV types, including HPV16 and HPV18.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
