Flexercell fx 5000 strain unit

Manufactured by Flexcell
Sourced in United States

The Flexercell FX-5000 Strain Unit is a lab equipment designed to apply controlled mechanical strain to cell cultures. It features a computer-controlled vacuum system that creates a cyclical strain on the cells, simulating physiological conditions. The device can be used to study the effects of mechanical forces on various cell types.

Mechanical Stress Stimulation of PDLSCs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The application of cyclic mechanical stress (10% and 0.5 Hz) was carried out with Flexercell FX-5000 Strain Unit (Flexcell International Corporation, Hillsborough, NC, United States) as described previously (Xi et al., 2021 (link)). The PDLSCs were treated with 10% and 0.5 hz cyclic mechanical stress for 0 and 12 h. The PDLSCs in 0 h groups were the non-loaded cells without cyclic mechanical stress. Non-loaded PDLSCs (0 h) were cultured on the Bioflex ® culture plates in the same incubator for the maximum tension time without cyclic mechanical stress.

Cyclic Mechanical Stress on PDLSCs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The method was consistent with our previous study.13 (link) PDLSCs at passages 3–6 were cultivated and then seeded in the six-well silicone Bioflex ® culture plates (Flexcell International Corporation, Hillsborough, NC, USA). After PDLSCs reached approximately 80% confluence, 10% and 0.5 Hz cyclic mechanical stress was performed for 3, 12 and 24 h using Flexercell FX-5000 Strain Unit (Flexcell International Corporation).14 (link),15 (link) Non-loaded PDLSCs (0 h) were cultivated and then seeded in the similar culture plates and in the same incubator without cyclic mechanical stress.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
