L-Ascorbic acid, copper(II) bromide (CuBr 2 ), and albumin from bovine serum (BSA, 019-21272) were obtained from Wako Pure Chemical Industries (Osaka, Japan). All reagents were of extra-pure grade and were used without further purification.
