Recombinant Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF1) was purchased from Calbiochem (San Diego, CA, USA) and recombinant Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor from ORF Genetics (Kopavogur, Iceland). The two cell lines were grown in monolayer culture with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS), 100 U/mL penicillin and 100 μg/mL streptomycin addition and incubated at 37 °C in a humidified atmosphere containing 5% CO2 in air.
