The ursolic acid and loganin standards were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich Co. (St. Louis, MO, USA). Both the oleanolic acid and gallic acid standards were obtained from Sangon Biotech Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). The HPLC-grade methanol, acetonitrile, formic acid, and water were purchased from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (Waltham, MA, USA). The medicines and consumables for the fermentation were purchased from the Shanghai Yuanye Biotech Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). The B. subtilis and B. bifidum strains were purchased from Shanghai Macklin Biochemical Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Except for the liquid chromatography reagents, all of the other experimental chemicals were of analytical grade, and double-distilled water was applied.

Optical rotatory dispersion was measured on Autopol VI polarimeter (Rudolph research analytical, Hackettstown, USA). UV spectrum was obtained using a Mapada UV-1600 spectrophotometer (Shanghai, China), and IR spectrum was measured on a Nicolet iS10 FT-IR spectrophotometer (Thermo Scienetific, Massachusetts, USA) using KBr pellets. HRESIMS were performed on Q-Exactive mass spectrometer (ThermoFisher, Waltham, USA). NMR spectra were recorded on Avance III HD-500 MHz and HD-400 MHz spectrometers (Bruker, Fällanden, Switzerland) with TMS as internal standard. Column chromatography was performed over silica gel (200-300 mesh, Qingdao Marine Chemical, Qingdao, China), RP-18 silica gel (40-65 μm, Merck, Darmstadt, Germany) and Sephadex LH-20 (40-70 μm, Pharmacia, Uppsala, Sweden), respectively. Fractions or spots were observed by spraying with 10% H 2 SO 4 in EtOH followed by heating. The substrate, disodium 4-nitrophenyl phosphate, and the positive control, oleanolic acid, were purchased from Sangon Biotech (Shanghai, China), and Selleck, respectively. The PTP1B activity assay was measured on VERSAmax (Molecular Devices, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
